Manali is located in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of about 1950 m above sea level, it is about 250 km away from the state capital of Shimla.
Manali has been named after Brahmas’s appointed lawgiver, Manu, who is said to have arrived in this region to begin the seventh cycle of creation and destruction. The region is also said to be the home of the seven great sages of the Hindu religion.

Day 03 : Manali – Kullu – Manali ( 100 kms)
Morning after breakfast proceed to full day city tour of Manali and then drive to Kullu. Hadimba Temple also known as the Doongri Temple, this four-tiered pagoda-like wooden temple have beautiful carvings on its ornamental door. Hadimba temple is dedicated to Hadimba, the wife of Bhim. Vashist Spring – Across the Beas river, about 3 km away from Manali at an altitude of 1,982 meters (6,200 feet), are the natural sulphur springs. Other places of interest are Tibetan Monastry, The Gompa is covered with brightly coloured frescoes and a mid size Buddhist statute. The airport at Bhunter is 50 km from Manali where taxis and buses are available. The closest narrow gauge railhead is at Joginder Nagar, 165 km away. The closest broad gauge rail heads are Chandigarh (310 km) and Ambala (355 km). By road the distance from Delhi is 570 km and from Shimla the distance is 280 km. From Delhi, there is a regular HPTDC Luxury and Volvo Coach to Manali. HPTDC runs Luxury coach from Shimla to Manali in tourist season.
Climatic Condition
In winter, the temperature can drop to below freezing point when heavy woolens are required. Summer temperature are mild and light woolens / cottons are recommended.
Climate
The climate in Manali is very pleasant all through the year except during the winter when night temperatures may drop below zero degree Celsius. Rohtang Pass
Rohtang Pass is the highest point, 4,112m, on the Manali-Keylong road, 51-km from Manali town. It provides a wide panoramic view of mountains rising far above clouds, which is a sight truly breath-taking.
Mountaineering

Temple Of Manu
Slippery stones paths lead through the old village houses up to the temple of Manu. Manali is named after the sage Manu who meditated when he came in this area.

Hadimba Temple:
Hadimba or Dhungiri temple in Manali is one of the most important temples in the region. This four-story wooden temple is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar. Malana Valley
