About Auli

Introduction

Auli is located at 12 kms away from Joshimath.This spot was discovered by the
Indian Army posted on the Tibetan border. It is the third most famous skiing
spot in the country.The place offers wide number of trekking routes to the
adventurist tourist.The laidback can enjoy the scenery which is
extraordinary.The hot water springs are remarkable.The skiing centre in Auli was
set up in 1984 and serves as a major attarction for the tourist.The Uttar
Pradesh Government’s Garhwal Mandal Corporation runs this centre.At an altitude
of 2,500 to 3,050 m above sea level, Auli’s well-dressed slopes are flanked by
coniferous and oak forests, which offer a panoramic view of mountains.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Auli is during the winter season. The period from late
November to late March is generally considered ideal for skiers. As the winters
set in, the mountains seem to extend to the firmament with arms of snow.
